Personal Protective Equipment, also known as PPE, is a term which refers to a group of human safety products. This group has many products such as high-visibility clothing, gloves, eye protection tools, head protection equipment, safety footwear etc. The main purpose of these products are to protect people from small and big accidents.
PPE are normally used in offices, workplaces and homes for the safety of a person. These products can also be used in sport events and many other activities. Different activities need different types of PPE. A person should wear a proper type of PPE to avoid any injury. Below are some of the important types of PPE.
Face Safety Equipment:
While doing any dangerous activity, it is most important to protect your face with plastic sheets. It will help to avoid any contact with contaminated material. If you will not take any safety measures then germs can access your mouth, nose and eyes.
Gloves:
Gloves are the most usable PPE and normally doctors and other staff wear it on a regular basis to avoid any infection of patients.
Goggles:
This PPE is also very important because it helps to save your eye from infectious droplets. Goggles are much better than glasses because they also project area around the eyes.
Hearing equipment:
If you are working in a place with high sound levels then it is more important for you to use hearing equipment. You can use ear-plugs for your comfort but earmuffs are easier to use because you can easily put and take them off.
Head protection equipment:
Head protection equipment is also very important because it helps to protect your head from injury. Try to wear a sturdy help that is hard enough to help you in work condition.
Masks:
It’s also very important to wear a mask in the workplace because it will help you to avoid contact with hazardous materials. A study shows that 15% of the workers inhale smoke, powder, dust or other things while doing their jobs.
Feet Protection Equipment:
Feet also need protection equipment so you should use safety shoes and boots to protect your feet against heavy things. It will be great to use an anti skid sole while working in a damp place because usually industrial accidents are done because of sliding and tripping. You should use show claws on slippery surfaces (such as ice or snow).
